Brent is the Managing Director of the Agri Business Consulting Group and after having been in practice for 40 years, is the most experienced agri specialist loss adjuster in the country.  His extensive knowledge of crop loss adjustment and the agricultural insurance sector has seen him travel to many parts of the world undertaking loss investigations, claim adjustments, risk surveys, delivering targeted training programs or speaking at conferences.

Brent is responsible for the Group’s overall operations and plays a key role in the development of new techniques and the application of new technology to improve the accuracy, transparency and delivery of loss adjusting services. His consistent drive for improvement and innovation will ensure that ABCG maintain their position as market leaders.   


DAVID WARD General Manager / Chief Agronomist

David has worked alongside Brent for over 17 years and has played an important role as General Manager and Chief Agronomist of the Group for the last 6 years.  Based in our first satellite office at Dubbo, David handles a sizable portfolio of seasonal regional claims and is also frequently called upon to apply his extensive agronomic knowledge and experience to the resolution of liability claims.   

David has had a lifetime involvement in agriculture, beginning at the family farm and extending through to managing a corporate cotton farm.  He understands the issues associated with the production of crops and the agronomic implications that arise with dealing with loss adjustments.  In addition to executive management functions, David also has responsibility for the Group’s use and development of drone technology.

Calem Hoffmann Agronomist / Crop Loss Adjuster

Calem has been with the Group for 6 years and was our first employee to graduate with a degree in Agriculture after joining the company as a trainee.  Calem, who operates from our Geelong satellite office, now has responsibility for a varied portfolio of seasonal claims throughout Australia, with a particular focus on southern States.    

Calem’s interest in agriculture began at an early age through an involvement in the family farm and has since further developed through his extensive exposure to a range of agri business enterprises with ABCG.  He’s particularly motivated by developments in technology and has assumed Group responsibility for the strategic partnership with Croptical in the development of satellite based tools specifically for crop loss adjusting purposes. 


Natalie Smith Trainee Crop Loss Adjuster

Natalie, a business/marketing graduate, has joined the ABCG team as a Trainee Loss Adjuster to pursue her strong interest in the primary production sector. With past operational and administrative experience in horticulture and the Australian beef industry, Natalie has a natural affinity for agri business and is looking forward to growing her career with ABCG as she journeys towards her goal of qualifying as an agri specialist chartered loss adjuster. 

In addition to her evolving claims handling role, Natalie will oversee the Group’s social media and marketing strategies, and is currently undertaking Insurance studies.

Lisa Demnar Operations Manager

Lisa joined the Group in 2011 after a background in corporate support roles to focus on the important internal claims handling role. Her considerable experience dealing with stakeholders allowed her to improve the Group’s communications internally and externally, while at the same time streamlining the overall claims flow process.  Now, as the primary contact point for grower, broker and Insurer claims liaison, she deals with initial claim registrations and front line contact through to the point of settlement.  Lisa has also taken on responsibility for staff training and overseeing compliance.
